Rick Hobson is the owner of his own thriving business, Jericho Nursery, and host of the successful call-in gardening show, New Mexico Garden Talk on KKOB. Rick Hobson worked at Rowland’s for over 25 years and is considered an expert in the Albuquerque gardening community and around the state. Rick is on numerous boards, including the Japanese beetle taskforce; was acting president of New Mexico Association of Independent Nursery Industries and is currently assisting the New Mexico chapter of the Colorado Nursery and Greenhouse Association to create testing programs for nursery, landscape and greenhouse employees.

Jim Sais is a native New Mexican. He grew up on a family fruit and vegetable farm in Los Lunas. Jim graduated from New Mexico State University and the University of Maryland. He served as County Extension Agent in Bernalillo County and was the State Horticulture Specialist with the Cooperative Extension Service of New Mexico State University. He also wrote a popular garden column for the Albuquerque Journal for 13 years. As Horticultural Specialist, Jim traveled throughout New Mexico conducting educational programs on gardening, and has authored numerous circulars and bulletins and produced many video programs on gardening in New Mexico.

Jim started the Bernalillo County Master Gardener Program and Master Gardener Programs throughout New Mexico. He also was responsible for the first Farmers Market in Bernalillo County. Jim retired after 33 plus years from New Mexico State University and the United States Department of Agriculture in 1992. His last position with NMSU was that of Department Head and had the title of Full Professor. Jim is currently a Horticultural Consultant.
