(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) -- Police have arrested a man they suspect to be the “Mid-School Molester,” and cold case detectives are asking victims to come forward to aid in the investigation, The Albuquerque Journal reports.

The sexual assaults took place near McKinley Middle School during the late 80s and early 90s. Police arrested Joseph Raymond Blea, 56, in 2009 on domestic violence charges, but later investigations linked him to four of the McKinley Middle School rapes.

“We feel very strongly that there are more victims,” Albuquerque Police Chief Ray Schultz said. The police are asking victims or anybody with information to step forward so they can link Blea to more of the crimes.

Three victims came forward in 2010 when Blea was first linked to the crimes, but police are making a renewed push for other victims to help them in the investigation after a grand jury convicted Blea on nine counts of criminal sexual penetration and four counts of kidnapping last week.
