(ALBUQUERQUE, N.M.) – ABQ Ride presented an Albuquerque centenarian with a lifetime pass to ride the city’s buses free of charge.

Carroll Stewart celebrated his 104th birthday on Thursday with a party at the retirement community where he lives. He still drives to and from his part time job as a volunteer at St. Theresa Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center in Northeast Albuquerque.

“We understand Mr. Stewart still drives to and from his volunteer work,” said Bruce Rizzieri, Director of ABQ RIDE.  “We’d like to offer him an alternative form of transportation.”

The City’s Department of Senior Affairs threw the birthday party to thank Stewart for his volunteer work.
